Panthers considering moving game from Carolina due to riots

Carolina Panthers 2016 Schedule Panthers fan

The Carolina Panthers find their home community in shambles right now. Riots have broken out each of the past two days with protesters and the police clashing over the shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott on Tuesday near the campus of North Carolina Charlotte.

It’s now apparently gotten to the point where the Panthers and the National Football League are at least considering moving Sunday’s game from Carolina.

There’s not a whole lot of information to go off here. Though, the primary concern for both the team and the league has to be the safety of the fans in attendance when the Panthers host the Minnesota Vikings Sunday afternoon.

Per the report:

“Police said Scott, 43, was armed getting out of a car and threatened police officers. Family members, however, said Scott was disabled and reading a book while waiting to pick up us son from the school bus.”

It will be interesting to see what comes out of this. Though, the backdrop here is widespread protests among NFL players focusing on enequality and police brutality in the United States. There’s a fine line for both the league and the team to walk here. That’s for sure.
