Stephen Curry upgraded to questionable for Game 4

Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors might be getting the league’s MVP back for Monday’s game against Portland Trailblazers. ESPN’s Marc Spears is reporting that Stephen Curry’s status has been upgraded for Game 4.

This is certainly good news for all NBA fans, especially Warriors fans. Whether Curry ends up playing or not, it’s a sign that his injury is healing in the two-week window that was originally given.

Golden State should still be very cautious with the MVP. While they are coming off of a loss to the Blazers in Portland, they still lead the series 2-1. Even with a Game 4 loss, would still hold the home court advantage. As Golden State dropped only two games in Oakland all year and are 5-0 at home in the playoffs, that’s a significant edge, with or without Curry.

When Curry does get back on the court, some rust would certainly be expected, as he’s played in only two full games thus far in the playoffs. Still, he was a big factor against Portland during the team’s four regular season matchups. In those games, Curry averaged 32.5 points and never scored fewer than 26. Golden State was also 3-1 in those games.

Thus far, the Warriors are 4-2 in the playoffs in games where Curry has not played.
