Adrian Peterson on Vikings NFC North lead: ‘I feel like there’s a shift’

Adrian Peterson

The tide turned in the NFC North when the Minnesota Vikings moved up to first place after their team won and the Green Bay Packers lost in Week 10. Therefore a win at home for Minnesota when it squares off with the Packers on Sunday would give the Vikings a two-game lead in a division that has been dominated by Green Bay for the past three seasons.

Speaking on the Vikings rise in division, running back Adrian Peterson discussed the team’s upcoming game, per the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

“I feel like there’s a shift. Being able to take advantage of those opportunities, they’re slim. You don’t get to have too many opportunities in this league, especially when you’re playing a game like Sunday against Green Bay.”

Peterson, who is averaging 106.8 yards per game so far this season, has been a major contributor to the team’s success. Plus, the Vikings defense has been adequate in picking up any slack by limiting all of its opposing teams to 24 points or under.

Peterson continued to elaborate on the “shift.”

“I’m definitely feeling a shift in terms of the mentality of the team, the way we continue to approach it with the fight, the will and the desire to win no matter what.”

The Vikings sit in the perfect situation to kick a Packers team that is already down. Heading into this Sunday’s game, the Packers have lost their last three games in a row with a suddenly underwhelming offensive attack and a defense that struggled to keep the Detroit Lions in check last week.

Peterson, who is on course to finish his 2015 season with 1,708 yards, should find success Sunday against Green Bay’s defense that has allowed an average of 116.2 rushing yards per game at a pace of 4.2 yards per carry.

And, we can be sure the Vikings, who received “Beat Green Bay” shirts earlier this week, are studying film to make sure they dish the Packers their fourth consecutive loss this week.
