Nuggets offficial on Tony Romo suiting up: ‘They’re making a mockery of the sport’

Tony Romo has no plans to file his retirement paperwork

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will be in uniform and participate in pre-game activities as the Dallas Mavericks close up their season Tuesday night.

It’s the Mavericks’ way of paying homage to one of the most popular sports figures in Dallas after Romo himself “retired” from the NFL earlier in the month.

While it does seem to be a tremendous pay of respect, there are some who are taking issue with it.

Man, that unnamed Denver Nuggets official must be real fun at parties.

If Romo were to actually play Wednesday evening against Denver, then there would be a pretty big issue here. Fringe-level NBA players exhaust a ton of sweat and tears attempting to make it professionally. We’re talking years of hard work and dedication. Seeing Romo play in an NBA game would surely be a kick to the gut.

But this is nothing more than the Mavericks paying their respects to a man that has done so much for the city they call home. It’s really nothing more than that.

As it is, Romo can be seen in uniform as the Mavericks go through their morning shootaround.

Let’s see how many unnamed people take issue with that.
