Ben Roethlisberger calls Antonio Brown out for ‘pouting’

Antonio Brown

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been in the news a great deal since his team lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game this past Sunday.

By now it’s well known that Big Ben is considering retirement. Whether that comes to fruition is now yet known.

Though, the two-time Super Bowl winner clearly seems to be upset by the attitude star receiver Antonio Brown continues to display. Fresh off Brown making the news for a Facebook Live video he posted following Pittsburgh’s win in the divisional round, even more criticism is being thrown the Pro Bowler’s way.

“He’s one of the best in the business, and the plays that he makes and has made over his career are so special. ” Roethlisberger told 93.7 FM radio in Pittsburgh show (h/t Pittsburgh Tribune-Review). “I think sometimes that overshadows the extra stuff: the hands up, the arms up, the frustrations, the pouting, the things like that.”

Big Ben’s comments were in direct response to a question about a video showing Brown hanging his head following a touchdown run by DeAngelo Williams in the AFC Championship Game.

Star receivers want the ball. They want the ball a lot. They think it’s their right to help dominate a game by their mere presence on the field. And that might be true. As it relates to Brown, he’s one of the best in the game. Unfortunately, his selfish attitude has cost Pittsburgh at times recently. Apparently, Big Ben has had enough of his receiver’s antics.
