Wade Phillips trolls Saints on Twitter: ‘We Dat!’

The Denver Broncos pulled off one of the unlikeliest wins in the NFL on Sunday, taking a blocked extra-point to the house for two points and the game-winning score (watch here).

It was an absolutely amazing culmination to one of the best games in a week full of drama around the league.

This came after Denver yielded what appeared to be the game-winning touchdown on a pass from New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees to wide receiver Brandin Cooks.

All the Saints needed to do as convert on the extra point with just over one minute remaining in the final stanza. That obviously didn’t happen.

A day after the stirring win, Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips took to Twitter as a way to troll the Saints. And it was splendid.

As most of you already know, the Saints’ longstanding slogan has been “Who Dat?”

Yes, the irony is not lost on us.

In addition to being one of the greatest defensive minds in the history of the NFL, Phillips is about the best possible sports figure you could follow on Twitter. Sure he’ll throw others under the bus, but his self-deprecating humor is also what makes him such a fantastic follow.

This just so happened not to be one of those times.
