Packers officially rule Eddie Lacy out for Thursday night

The Green Bay Packers will be trotting out the newly acquired Knile Davis as their starting running back Thursday night against the Chicago Bears.

Davis promises to be the only active Packers running back with Eddie Lacy now ruled out for the game.

Lacy is dealing with an ankle injury that he seemed to aggravate after he attempted to play through the issue in last week’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

It had previously been reported that Lacy would miss “several weeks” with the ankle injury. Though, the Packers themselves remain tight-lipped about the severity of the injury.

With James Starks also sidelined after undergoing knee surgery this past weekend, the Packers find themselves in an unenviable position.

Short of Davis almost literally hitting the ground running, Mike McCarthy and the crew will likely be heavily dependent on a struggling passing game Thursday against the division-rival Bears.
