Wilt Chamberlain headband from 1971 being sold at auction

newsletter

If you have a spare $4,000-$6,000 laying around, you could be the proud new owner of a 1971 Wilt Chamberlain headband.

Now, Chamberlain was nearing the end of his career in 1971, but he was still dominating his competition as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

In the 1970-71 season, he averaged 20.7 points, 18.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Because blocks were not tallied at the time, we don’t have those numbers, but it’s safe to assume Wilt was still swatting balls with regularity.

The biggest question we have about the headband going up for auction is obviously this: “Has it been washed?”
