Chicago Cubs All-Star Anthony Rizzo was ejected by home-plate umpire Jordan Baker after a strikeout in the fifth inning on Wednesday.

The situation surrounding Rizzo’s ejection is questionable at best, as the Cubs announcers indicated.

Rizzo and Cubs manager Joe Maddon had been upset with the strike zone throughout the game. But it does not look like the first baseman did anything to warrant an ejection. That’s why he’s seen arguing with Baker and Co.

People watching the game were also a bit surprised by the quick hook.

Welcome to the 2019 MLB season, where umpires have decided to take center stage. How fun.
