Miguel Cabrera smacked a three-run double and a two-run single and the host Detroit Tigers stretched their winning streak to four games by pounding the slumping Texas Rangers 14-0 on Monday.

Akil Baddoo supplied a two-run homer, two-run single and scored three runs. Victor Reyes contributed four hits and scored three runs while Jonathan Schoop had two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs.

The Tigers’ run total was a season high. They banged out 19 hits, while the Rangers had just four.

Joe Jimenez struck out three in one inning of relief and was credited with the win. Tigers starter Casey Mize pitched the first four innings and allowed one hit. The Tigers have notched three shutouts during their streak.

Kyle Gibson surrendered eight runs on 10 hits in five-plus innings as the Rangers lost their sixth straight. Texas has been outscored 29-0 in the last three games.

Detroit took the lead in the third.

Isaac Paredes hit a one-out single. Reyes followed with a single but Paredes was thrown out at third by right fielder Joel Gallo. Baddoo then powered a 2-0 offering from Gibson over the right-field wall.

Brock Holt became Texas’ first baserunner with his leadoff single in the fourth. Mize responded by retiring the next three batters.

Jeimer Candelario, Eric Haase and Harold Castro hit consecutive two-out singles in the bottom of the fourth but Gallo threw out Candelario at the plate.

Paredes’ leadoff double in the fifth sparked a four-run inning to make it 6-0. Baddoo drew a one-out walk and Schoop knocked in Paredes with a single. Robbie Grossman was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Cabrera then pulled a Gibson changeup into the left-field corner to clear the bases.

The Tigers scored seven runs in the sixth against Gibson, Brett Martin and Joe Barlow.

A walk and two singles loaded the bases before Baddoo delivered a two-run single. Schoop followed with an RBI single and Cabrera contributed a two-run single. Haase’s bases-loaded walk and Castro’s sacrifice fly knocked in the other runs.

Detroit tacked on a run in the seventh on Candelario’s bases-loaded walk.
