The Temple Owls welcomed No. 21 Maryland to town on Saturday with hopes for an upset. Owls quarterback Anthony Russo helped the team’s efforts with a gorgeous deep ball on a 79-yard, go-ahead score.
Temple found itself deep in its territory midway through the third quarter when it decided to take a shot. Wide receiver Jadan Blue created a little gap of separation near the 50-yard line and Russo dropped it right into his hands and the rest was history.
Russo’s shown throughout his collegiate career that he can make some stunning throws and put the football in a place where only his wide receiver can grab it.
This might be one of the best dimes in his career and it will be one that fans will remember if Temple pulls off the upset.
