WATCH: Sam Darnold throws first touchdown pass in NFL

After seeing Baker Mayfield dominate in his NFL debut, New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold seized the opportunity when it was his time to shine.

On Friday night, Darnold threw his first touchdown pass in the NFL. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft stepped up in a big moment, evading pressure and firing a bullet to wide receiver Charles Johnson in the corner for a score.

The 21-year-old rookie quarterback was extremely impressive in his first run under center for the Jets. Darnold completed nine passes for 74 yards and picked up his first touchdown in the process.

It’s an impressive debut for Darnold and should be the first of many touchdowns to come for him in his career.
