Early in the first quarter of Saturday’s game between Northern Illinois and Nebraska, punter Matt Ference had a moment he would like to forget.
Ference completely whiffed on his punt attempt, allowing Nebraska to recover the ball.
The play-by-play shows it’s a blocked punt by Isaiah Stalbird, but anyone with eyes can see it was a big old swing and miss.
Adding insult to injury, Adrian Martinez completed a 21-yard touchdown to Maurice Washington on the very next play, putting Nebraska up 10-0.
