The Chicago Cubs Major League roster doesn’t lack for serious power. If the performance of Eloy Jimenez in the Carolina League home run derby is any indication, more power is coming Chicago’s way in the coming years.
Jimenez showed some significant power throughout the derby. One of his home runs smashed into the light tower at Salem Memorial Ballpark.

Jimenez is the eighth-ranked prospect in baseball (per MLB.com) and No. 1 in the Cubs’ organization. He’s hit seven home runs in only 97 at-bats for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Chicago’s Class-A Advanced affiliate.
