WATCH: Cristiano Ronaldo tosses reporter’s mic in lake

Note to reporters in Portugal: Don’t get on Cristiano Ronaldo’s bad side. He might just toss some of your equipment into a lake.

This is exactly what happened when Diogo Torres of CMTV attempted to interview Ronaldo on Wednesday. He and his teammates are currently preparing to battle Hungary in Euro 2016, and he wasn’t interested in speaking to Torres — like, at all.

Check him out throwing Torres’ mic into a nearby lake.

“I asked Ronaldo if he was prepared for the match,” Torres told BBC Sport. “He didn’t answer. He grabbed my mic and threw it into the lake. I’m not sure why he did it. I think it was a momentary thing. I think he would not have done it if he had thought about it.

“We are a TV channel of a major newspaper in Portugal. We produce a lot of news about him. Some of it he doesn’t like. Perhaps that’s why he did it. But it wasn’t a personal thing.”

One wonders exactly what it was that “he doesn’t like.”

Whatever the case may be, this was kind of a humorous exchange, though an apology would be nice considering those mics are not cheap.

To this point, however, Torres says he has not received an apology from Ronaldo for his action. Based on the determination of Ronaldo to wrest the mic out of Torres’ hand during this exchange, the reporter might be waiting quite a while for this to happen.
