Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Casey Hayward is used to shutting down receivers and deflecting passes away. During Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, a wide receiver deflected the ball to him.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford lofted a deep shot into the end zone to receiver Kenny Golladay in the third quarter. A poor throw forced Golladay to try and be the defensive back and it backfired. Golladay committed offensive pass interference and deflected the ball into Hayward’s arms.
It would have been one thing to see a wide receiver commit offensive pass interference while trying to make a defensive play in the end zone. This incredible sequence went a step further by Golladay deflecting it right to Hayward for the interception.
