WATCH: Browns’ QB Baker Mayfield’s third INT is pick-sixed to cap awful start

In a game where many expected the Cleveland Browns offense to take off under quarterback Baker Mayfield, the second-year quarterback’s day can largely be summed up on his third interception of the day.

Cleveland’s offense found itself down 36-13 with only three minutes remaining and the game already decided. On first down with hopes for a comeback dwindling, Mayfield’s poor mechanics led to a poor throw and a pick-six for Tennessee Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler.

On passing plays when he didn’t find himself under immense pressure behind an offensive line that couldn’t protect him, Mayfield routinely missed throws and made mistakes.

The Browns were talked about as a potential contender in the AFC with an offense capable of posting some of the best numbers in the NFL. What we saw on Sunday is a quarterback and team that needs a lot of work.
