Bill Belichick recently snubbed some kids walking onto the field before his New England Patriots took on the Detroit Lions, but he’s not completely coldhearted when it comes to fans seeking his attention on game days.

Belichick has strong ties to the United States military. He was raised in Annapolis, Maryland while his father coached football at Navy. So it’s hardly surprising that he took time to honor the veteran, even though it appeared the encounter happened either during or right before the game.
