They might be shaking hands in Las Vegas in early July. But that’s not going to be the case in Southern California once the 2019-20 NBA season gets going.

Fresh off both teams making absolutely huge moves this summer, the Clippers and Lakers are going to be renewing a rivalry that has not existed in decades. That includes Lakers stars Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma.

It also includes a pretty happy Clipper duo of Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams after their team acquired Paul George and Kawhi Leonard on Saturday.

All five of these figures met up during NBA Summer League in Vegas Saturday. To say it was a bit awkward would be an understatement.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall there. We already know that these two teams are going to be going at it big time. Rivals in the second largest media market. Two potential title contenders.

At least for now, everything seems friendly.
