Two Alabama high school football teams did their part to help make a dream come true on Friday night. Jake Pratt, an 18-year old senior at Vestavia Hills High School with Down Syndrome, scored a touchdown on the final play of the team’s preseason scrimmage with Briarwood Christian. Pratt, who had never dressed for a football game, celebrated as the fans chanted his name.

According to AL.com, Pratt had served as a manager for several years. His parents approached the coaching staff to ask if he could dress for a game this year after Pratt attended every offseason workout this summer.

This is such a great moment that Pratt will surely remember for the rest of his life. It’s so uplifting to see these teams put competition aside to give him this memory.
