No. 3 UConn’s 240-game winning streak against unranked opponents ended with a 57-44 loss at Georgia Tech on Thursday in Atlanta.

UConn hadn’t lost to an unranked team since falling 57-56 to St. John’s in 2012, and the loss to Georgia Tech was just the Huskies’ second to an unranked opponent in the past 29 years.

Lotta-Maj Lahtinen scored a game-high 15 points, Nerea Hermosa had 13 and Eylia Love chipped in 10 for the Yellow Jackets (7-2), who outscored the Huskies 18-5 in the final quarter to break open a game that was tied at 39 after three quarters.

UConn (5-2), which had just eight players due to injuries, didn’t make its first basket in the fourth quarter until there was 1:18 left.

Paige Bueckers, the reigning consensus national player of the year who averages 21.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, suffered a tibial plateau fracture in her left knee and is expected to be out for six to eight weeks.

Nika Muhl is out with a foot injury, Aubrey Griffin is day-to-day with numerous injuries, and Azzi Fudd, the nation’s top-ranked 2021 recruit, is sidelined for at least two weeks with an injured foot.

The Huskies were led by Christyn Williams’ 13 points, while Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Evina Westbrook had 11 points and six assists.

UConn’s 44 points were tied for the sixth-fewest scored by the Huskies in a game under Auriemma. The Huskies scored 37 against Vanderbilt in 1992, 38 against Villanova in 1986, 41 versus Iowa in 1990, 42 against Rutgers in 2006 and 43 against Virginia in 1992. UConn also scored 44 against Villanova in 1993.
