On Thursday, Terrell Owens announced that he has decided not to attend his Hall of Fame induction ceremony this August. In a prepared statement he made it clear he’s going to celebrate on his own terms, among other things.
This decision almost certainly is directly tied to the fact that Owens has been disgruntled with the Hall of Fame voters, who chose to abstain from voting him in until this year.
Given his history as an emotional guy, Owens’ decision shouldn’t be all that shocking in hindsight. Still, many on social media, including plenty of people in sports media, slammed Owens for what they considered a petty move.
The most T.O. decision in history. https://t.co/sfxQp4Rzxh

So disappointed that Terrell Owens has decided not to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. He has every right to be upset with voters, but to take it out on the Hall and his classmates is misguided and wrong.

In the end it’s his choice but I bet it’s a decision he will regret.

Terrell Owens "Hall of Fame" snub smells of hypocrisy, desperation and self-promotion #ThursdayThoughts

I get it Terrell Owens…I really do. You mad, and we do petty things when we are mad, but please reconsider attending the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for your fans! Plus if you don't come, Ray Lewis gets to talk about nothing longer. #TerrellOwens #TO pic.twitter.com/zNJKdKoclt
