While the MLB offseason has been relatively quiet, the New York Yankees made a splash on Wednesday by trading for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. Yes, you read that right.
Wilson handled the news in a very matter of fact way on Twitter.
Thank you Texas…Hello New York.
Always said we’d be a Yankee Pops! #MLB @Yankees https://t.co/aMnmL3SPsZ

The rest of Twitter brought the jokes.
Now even the Yankees have a better quarterback than the Jets. https://t.co/a8ZXbkUcLB

Yankees finally respond to the Mets Tim Tebow signing, acquire INF Russell Wilson’s rights from the Rangers. Yanks always get the better QB.

Russell Wilson and Aaron Judge on the same team?
Forget the AL East, the Yankees might be able to win the NFC East.

CC Sabathia took it even one step further.
About to win the next World Series and Super Bowl 🤣🤣 https://t.co/sJBMRUhFka

Of course, not everyone was so optimistic.
Bad news for Russell Wilson … the Yankees REALLY don’t have an offensive line.

Now Yankees need to sign Malcolm Butler to play first base, so if Russell Wilson plays second, he can throw to him again

Of course, the fun is just starting. Wilson has been assigned to AA and will be in New York’s MLB camp. So just wait until Grapefruit League action gets underway.
