Tony Romo channels Jake Taylor from ‘Major League’ in Twitter message to Cowboys fans

Tony Romo is coming back this week after being on the short-term IR since Week 3, and he posted an inspiring message for the Dallas Cowboys and their fans on his Twitter account Tuesday morning.

So, could Romo, like Jake Taylor from the movie “Major League” really inspire his team to win the whole thing?

Dallas, at 2-7, is almost completely dead in the water as it pertains to the NFC playoff picture. The ‘Boys started out 2-0 with Romo behind center but lost seven in a row without him, but while the postseason is a bleak prospect at this time it’s worth noting they are still only two games behind the division-leading New York Giants in the loss column.

Romo’s absence made it abundantly clear just how good he is, and how desperately the Cowboys need him in the lineup to contend. It’s going to be fascinating to see if he can somehow cobble together a few wins in a row to get enough momentum going for a late-season run towards the playoffs.
