Tom Brady will not attend Patriots White House visit

Tom Brady

A lot was made of Tom Brady’s relationship with President Donald Trump during the 2016 election and after Trump himself shocked the world by defeating Hillary Clinton in November.

This was taken to a whole new level after New England hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in February, at which point we knew the team would ultimately head to the White House to visit with President Trump.

As multiple Patriots players dropped out of attending the visit, most figured Brady would make his way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to hang out with an old friend.

Apparently, that’s not going to be the case. Brady released a statement on Wednesday morning indicating that he would not be in attendance due to personal family matters.

Brady received unjustified criticism for having a past relationship with then candidate Trump during the election. This doesn’t seem to be a way of him attempting to avoid further criticism.

Remember, Brady himself backed out of a visit with the Obama White House back in 2015 because of conflicting schedules. This appears to be the case once again.

The Patriots are set to meet with President Trump on Wednesday.
