Tom Brady becomes fourth QB to reach 5,000 career completions

Tom Brady is among the best NFL players over the age of 30

The legend of the great Tom Brady continues to grow daily, as does his assault on the NFL record books.

Partway through today’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Tom Brady joined just three other quarterbacks(Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees) in having thrown 5,000 completions in his career.

While many try to downplay his greatness — his career has been marred by controversy — the magnitude of what Brady accomplished today is astounding.

The pass completion to Rob Gronkowski put Brady in a tier with three other Hall of Fame quarterbacks, including two standards by which all other quarterbacks are measured in Brett Favre and Peyton Manning.

Tom Brady will eventually retire as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever strap on pads in the NFL. For now, he continues to attack the record books in search of his seventh Super Bowl appearance.
