Oklahoma City Thunder guard George Hill (thumb) out at least four weeks

Oklahoma City Thunder guard George Hill will be sidelined at least four weeks following surgery Tuesday on his right thumb, the team announced.

The 34-year-old veteran had a minor procedure to address a mallet finger injury. It was performed by Dr. Steve Shin at the Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles.

In 14 games (all starts) this season, Hill is averaging 11.8 points and 3.1 assists in 26.4 minutes. He is shooting 50.8 percent from the field, 38.6 percent from 3-point range and 84.0 percent from the line.

He has career averages of 11.1 points, 3.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 799 games (463 starts) with the San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, Utah Jazz, Sacramento Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Thunder.
