The 2024 Masters was expected to get going at 7:40 AM ET on Thursday with all-time greats Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson teeing off from the famed Augusta National.

Whether it’s because this is the first Major of the PGA season or something else, it always has the most lead-up. That’s especially true in 2024 with Tiger Woods slated to go and due to the backdrop of LIV Golf.

Unfortunately, we might have to wait a bit to see the world’s greatest golfers tee off in the 2024 Masters. Their official website released a statement on Wednesday indicating that all gate openings have been delayed and parking will be closed until further notice.

“Due to forecasted weather on Thursday, we have decided to delay all gate openings in the morning,” the announcement read. “All Masters free parking will be closed until further notice while gate openings are delayed. Further updates will be shared no later than 5 a.m. via Masters.com and social channels.”

The forecast for Augusta on Thursday is not great.

According to The Weather Channel, thunderstorms with 100% chance of rain are expected for the AM hours. They are also expecting winds of up to 20 miles-per-hour. That is not necessarily ideal golfing conditions.

The good news? Things clear up a bit more as they move on to the afternoon hours. The expectation is that it will also be completely sunny for the final three rounds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
