Texas Tech forward Devan Cambridge will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury this week, the program announced Thursday.

Cambridge, in his fifth season of college basketball and his first with Texas Tech, was hurt in the Red Raiders’ 87-58 win over Omaha on Wednesday. He went down in pain more than once and subbed out for good after playing 19 minutes.

In eight games (all starts), Cambridge was averaging 10.5 points on 52.7 percent shooting from the floor, both of which were on pace to be career highs. He added 4.5 rebounds per game.

In 135 games (76 starts) with Auburn (2019-22), Arizona State (2022-23) and Texas Tech, he has career averages of 7.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest.

“Devan has been a tremendous person and teammate since he arrived,” Texas Tech coach Grant McCasland said in a statement. “It’s a devastating injury for him and our program. He is still going to make a significant impact on our team this year through his leadership.”
