T.J. Watt trumps anything J.J. has done in first NFL start

Cleveland Browns quarterback pursued by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt in NFL Week 1

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie outside linebacker T.J. Watt was extremely impressive in his Week 1 NFL debut. He not only registered his first official sack, but he also added his second. Plus, Watt hauled in an interception.

Thanks to this handy stat by NFL Research, we can see Watt has accomplished something his older brother J.J. has yet to record in a single game.

The senior Watt brother is one of the best players in the league. He has a total of 76 sacks and one interception on record. He achieved league highs in sacks in both 2012 with 20.5 and 2015 with 17.5.

The younger Watt seems to be on the right on course to add to his older brother’s success.

To be completely fair, we must say that T.J.’s two sacks and one interception came against Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer. With that said, we will look for T.J. to keep proving he is the real deal when the Steelers host Sam Bradford and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.

Both brothers should be a joy to watch in action this season.
