The St. Louis Cardinals placed outfielder Tyler O’Neill on the 10-day injured list with a right groin strain as part of a flurry of moves on Sunday.

O’Neill, who left Saturday’s 9-5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in the third inning, is averaging .143 through eight games this season. He also has a home run and three RBIs.

The Cardinals also sent right-hander Jake Woodford to the team’s alternate training site and recalled right-hander Johan Oviedo and outfielder Lane Thomas to fill the corresponding roster spots.
