The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly signed veteran cornerback Terrell Thomas, who has missed two of the last three seasons with a torn ACL. The former second-round pick recorded 67 tackles, one interception and eight passes defended in 16 games (seven starts) with the New York Giants last year.
Former Giants CB Terrell Thomas is signing with Seattle, per source. Reunited with Pete Carroll.

It remains to be seen what role Pete Carroll envisions Thomas to have this season, but Seattle did lose both Walter Thurmond III and Brandon Browner in free agency during the offseason. With Richard Sherman, Jeremy Lane and Byron Maxwell slated to be Seattle’s top-three corners in 2014, the signing of Thomas could act like little more than a depth move at this point.
As Schefter indicated, Thomas starred for Carroll at USC, so the coach is familiar with what he brings to the table.
Thomas’ best season came in 2010 when he recorded five interceptions, triple-digit tackles and 21 passes defended. When healthy, he’s a pretty good defensive back.
