Rutgers leading scorer Ron Harper Jr. is day-to-day with an injury to his non-shooting hand, the program said Thursday, leaving him questionable to play Sunday at No. 5 Purdue.

Harper left Wednesday’s 70-59 win over No. 12 Illinois with 2:34 left to play, holding his left hand in pain and accompanied by a team trainer.

The senior averages 15.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game while averaging 41.1 percent from 3-point range.

When Rutgers hosted No. 1 Purdue in December, Harper made a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from near half court to deliver the Scarlet Knights a 70-68 upset. He finished that game with 30 points, matching a career high at the time, but could miss the rematch in West Lafayette, Ind.

The Scarlet Knights are on a four-game winning streak, with all four games coming against ranked opponents: Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Illinois. Three of the four wins came at home.
