Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony could play against Cavaliers

Russell Westbrook

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been without Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony for each of the last two games with ankle injuries. But as the Thunder ready themselves for Tuesday’s showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers, both men are moving towards a possible return.

“They were in (practice) today with a lot of non-contact stuff … stuff that we did on the floor in terms of getting shots, working on some defensive stuff, concepts on offense,” Oklahoma City coach Billy Donovan said, per Sam Amico of Amicohoops.net. “We’ll have to wait and see how they feel coming out of today, see how they do tomorrow.”

The Thunder have split the two games without Westbrook and Anthony, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers and beating the Memphis Grizzlies.

One would think that having both men will be vital for Oklahoma City to defeat Cleveland, who has a much different outlook after a highly active trade deadline.
