The domestic violence case involving San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster will not go to trial. It was announced on Wednesday that the three felony charges against Foster have been dropped.

Additionally, the weapons charge is set to be reduced to a misdemeanor with the pretrial date set for June 6th.

This isn’t exactly surprising news.

During the initial hearing, his ex-girlfriend — the alleged victim — said that Foster never struck her and later acknowledged that she stole from him.

Foster, though is still not completely in the clear. Based on the plights of past players (ie: Ezekiel Elliott), it’s still a possibility that he’ll receive a lengthy suspension from the NFL.
