The Atlanta Braves and starting shortstop Orlando Arcia have reached agreement on a three-year contract extension worth $7.3 million, multiple outlets reported Thursday.

The deal includes a club option for 2026 that could make the deal worth $8.3 million, per the reports. Arcia was entering the final year of his contract and was set to make $1.3 million this season. He’ll now make $2.3 million for the 2023 season, per the reports.

Arcia won the job over Vaughn Grissom and Braden Shewmake after Dansby Swanson left in free agency in the offseason.

Arcia is entering his third season in Atlanta. He hit .244 with nine home runs and 30 RBIs in 67 games last season.

For his career, Arcia is batting .243 with 53 home runs, 216 runs and 223 RBIs in 642 games (552 starts) for Milwaukee and the Braves. Atlanta acquired Arcia from the Brewers in April 2021.
