Reports: 49ers add two veteran offensive linemen

After ignoring the offensive line with their 10 drafts picks this year, the San Francisco 49ers have reportedly added two veterans along that unit with starting experience.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, San Francisco will sign former Minnesota Vikings guard Brandon Fusco. The veteran is headed to Santa Clara to meet with the team and is expected to sign.

Fusco, a sixth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings back in 2011, started 64 games in six seasons with the team. That includes 30 starts at guard over the past two seasons.

San Francisco is also reportedly signing former Los Angeles Rams center Tim Barnes.

Barnes, 28, took part in the team’s off-season workouts last week. San Francisco was likely waiting to see if it would add a center in the 2017 NFL Draft. It didn’t.┬áBarnes started all 32 games for the Rams over the past two seasons and brings a ton of experience to the 49ers’ roster.

This comes on the heels of the 49ers trading for Pro Bowl center Jeremy Zuttah and signing former Seattle Seahawks starting right tackle Garry Gilliam earlier in the offseason.
