Report: Vikings trading for QB Trevor Siemian

Trevor Siemian Broncos

The Minnesota Vikings are finalizing a trade with the Denver Broncos for quarterback Trevor Siemian, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

This is some insurance for the monumental investment the Vikings are making on quarterback Kirk Cousins, who will reportedly sign a fully-guaranteed contract.

Siemian isn’t a starter. He proved that the past two years in Denver. But he is a reliable backup quarterback who now has plenty of experience under his belt, having started 24 games the past two years for the Broncos. He went 13-11 in those games, completing 59.3 percent of his passes for 5,686 yards with 30 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.
