Report: Titans reportedly looking to trade out of top five

There’s been a lot of buzz about teams in the top 10 looking to move down when the first round of the NFL draft gets going on Thursday.

NFL Media’s Mike Silver has reported that multiple teams picking in the top eight have discussed trade-down scenarios with the Cleveland Browns.

Now comes this report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicating that the Tennessee Titans are seriously considering a trade down from the fifth pick.

Remember, this is one of the picks Tennesssee received from the Los Angeles Rams prior to last year’s draft as the Rams moved up to No. 1 overall for quarterback Jared Goff. The Titans also boast their original first-round pick (18th overall).

This all comes with suggestions that the Cleveland Browns, also picking No. 1 overall, are looking to move up from the 12th pick for quarterback Mitch Trubisky. Such a trade might require the team to move all the way up to No. 2 overall with the San Francisco 49ers.

Then again, Cleveland can potentially wait to see how the board plays out and call up Tennessee about the fifth pick should Trubisky be available there.

More so than in previous drafts, we can expect a ton of wheeling and dealing on Thursday night. There’s a crop of five quarterbacks bandied about as potential first-round picks, but not a single team fully understands where others have them valued. That will make for an extremely interesting first round.
