Report: Star Buffalo QB Tyree Jackson looking to transfer

Buffalo Bulls quarterback Tyree Jackson could have very well decided to enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-7 signal caller is coming off a tremendous 2018 season and is seen as a dynamic project heading into his senior season. It now looks like Jackson will remain in school. Though, that might not be in Buffalo.

According to this report from Pete Thamel of Yahoo! Sports, Jackson is exploring a transfter from the Bulls’ program.

Given that Jackson would be a graduate-transfer, he wouldn’t have to sit out the 2019 season should the quarterback decide to move on from Buffalo.

Jackson put up 3,131 passing yards with 35 total touchdowns and 12 interceptions this past season. He was seen as a mid-to-late round pick if he had decided to declare.

Jackson’s hope is that a higher-profile program will come calling for a starting job. If so, he can elevate his stock for the 2020 NFL Draft.

A native of Michigan, it would not be a surprise if Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines showed interest. They have rolled with another transfer in Shea Patterson this season. Patterson is expected to declare for the 2019 draft.
