Report: Seahawks avoid discipline, let off with warning about not disclosing Richard Sherman injury

By Jesse Reed

The Seattle Seahawks will not face NFL discipline for failing to disclose Richard Sherman’s knee injury this past season. Instead, the franchise will be hit with a warning only, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Likely, this means the Pittsburgh Steelers will also face a warning only for failing to disclose Le’Veon Bell’s groin injury.

It’s interesting that the NFL is being so lenient here, especially in light of some harsh discipline that has been issued over the past couple of years on other issues. And because Sherman did not practice some days due to what was deemed “not injury related” reasons, just like Bell in Pittsburgh.

Regardless of the league’s reasons for issuing a warning, rather than a fine and/or draft pick penalty, the Seahawks will be glad to put this in the rear-view mirror and move on.
