The Baltimore Ravens gained more than $7 million in salary cap space by restructuring the contract of cornerback Marlon Humphrey, ESPN reported Monday.

The team had been working with less than $1 million in cap space.

Humphrey was due a $10 million base salary this season, but the Ravens converted $8.965 million into a signing bonus to create $7.17 million in cap space.

Humphrey, 26, signed a five-year, $97.5 million contract extension with Baltimore on Oct. 1, 2020.

The Ravens selected Humphrey in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In 73 career games (55 starts), he has 276 tackles, nine interceptions, 12 forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. A two-time Pro Bowl selection, he was a first-team All-Pro in 2019.
