According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dallas Cowboys are having reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year and former St. Louis Rams seventh-round pick Michael Sam in for a physical on Wednesday.
Cowboys plan to bring Michael Sam to Dallas for a physical Wednesday, per team source. If all goes well, Sam will be a Cowboy.

Sam, who performed exceptionally well with the Rams this preseason, will be the newest member of the Cowboys should he pass said physical.
The Cowboys are in need of any help that they can get on the defensive side of the ball and Sam fits their scheme to a T. Schefter later reported that Dallas would like to sign Sam to the practice squad, which means he wouldn’t be a part of the 53-man roster out of the gate.
Sam recored 11.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss for the Missouri Tigers last year. He was considered a mid-round pick in the lead up to the draft before a less-than-stellar postseason performance at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.
