Houston Rockets restricted free agent Clint Capela will reportedly take a visit with the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, according to David Aldridge of NBA.com.
Capela is a restricted free agent, and the Rockets have extended a one-year qualifying offer worth $4.7 million to the dynamic big man.
Houston can obviously match any offer another team extends to Capela. But in the NBA right now, there is no team that can match the spending power of Los Angeles, which entered free agency with more cap space than any other franchise.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Sunday morning that the Rockets would be meeting with Capela on Sunday as well, setting up a potential bidding war between Los Angeles and Houston for his services.
Capela came into his own in a big way this past season. He averaged 12.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game during the regular season and was a force in the playoffs as well.
