Report: Knicks working on deal to make Kings’ Scott Perry new GM

Scott Perry could become the next GM of the knicks

The Sacramento Kings made Scott Perry their Executive President of Basketball Operations this year, but he could be already moving on to bigger things.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ian Begley, the New York Knicks are working on a deal to make Perry their new general manager.

Ever since former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin turned down the job in New York, there has been plenty of uncertainty surrounding Phil Jackson’s old job.

Perry was with the Orlando Magic the past five years serving in similar capacity to his potentially short-lived position in Sacramento. Before that, he was a scout and front office man for the Detroit Pistons organization for 12 years.

Clearly Perry has a vast amount of experience as an NBA executive, and now it appears he is getting his first shot to legitimately run an organization. Obviously he’s stepping into a tricky situation, as the Carmelo Anthony saga has yet to resolve itself. He could make a big splash right out of the gate, so it should be quite fascinating to see how things turn out, if he lands the job.
