Report: Knicks trade Carmelo Anthony to Thunder

By Jesse Reed

The New York Knicks were desperately trying to move Carmelo Anthony before training camp. It’s clear he was eager to move on after he expanded the list of teams he’s willing to be traded to Friday. And while that list included the Cleveland Cavaliers it appears the Oklahoma City Thunder are the team that ended up landing Anthony.

Adding Anthony to a team that already sports reigning MVP Russell Westbrook and former Indiana Pacers forward Paul George would certainly make the Thunder one of the favorites in the Western Conference to unseat the Golden State Warriors.

Clearly, Oklahoma City is doing everything in its power to give Westbrook the help he needs to take down his old running mate, Kevin Durant, and his new team. It’s going to be fascinating to watch this all unfold in 2017-18 now that Anthony has ended up with the Thunder.
