Report: Kiko Alonso could be lost for season with knee injury

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Kiko Alonso could be lost for the season with a knee injury suffered in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys.

According to Foxsports.com’s Mike Garofolo, the linebacker’s status doesn’t look good following some tests on Monday.

Alonso was brought over to Philly in the same deal that sent LeSean McCoy packing to the Buffalo Bills. He is one of the most dynamic linebackers in the league when healthy, but unfortunately for Alonso and the teams he’s played for, he hasn’t been healthy very often since his outstanding rookie campaign.

Earning the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year honors by the PFWA in 2013, Alonso racked up 87 tackles, four interceptions and two sacks while adding five fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.

Should he be lost for the year, as the report suggests, then the Eagles will DeMeco Ryans to fill his shoes.
