As Jay-Z and Roc Nation move into to a partnership with the NFL, he reportedly has a much bigger prize in mind — becoming an NFL owner.

According to TMZ Sports, that’s a goal that he will meet sooner rather than later.

Citing “sources connected to Jay and with direct knowledge” of the situation, Jay-Z is set to have a “significant ownership interest” in an NFL team.

TMZ Sports also reports that this new venture “is going to happen in the near future” and that Jay-Z wants to become an owner “because he’s a huge fan, already has a sports business and wants to continue to be a change agent for the NFL.”

There has been no shortage of debate about whether Jay-Z will actually effect any change. What we do know for sure is that the people who support Colin Kaepernick are not happy with how things are going on the social justice front with Jay-Z’s new NFL partnership.

As for which team Jay-Z might end up as a part owner, that has yet to be revealed.
