Just seven months into a three-year deal with Ninjas in Pyjamas, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive star Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz is interested in returning to Astralis, dexerto.com reported Monday citing multiple sources.

With dev1ce in a starring role, Astralis won four international majors — including two in 2019: IEM Major and FACEIT Major.

His short time with Ninjas in Pyjamas has not lived up to expectation. The team barely advanced to the New Champions Stage at PGL Major Stockholm last month, only to be eliminated quickly in the quarterfinals by G2 Esports, who went on to the Grand Final.

At last week’s BLAST Premier World Final, the Denmark native did not appear at all because of an unspecified illness. NiP was eliminated quickly, falling again to G2Esports in the upper bracket quarterfinals and getting knocked out by Astralis in the opening round of the lower bracket.

Astralis was eliminated from the World Final one round later, with rumors starting to swirl that they would want to explore dev1ce’s return, leaving the teams to work on a transfer fee. Although the transfer fee NiP paid to Astralis was not disclosed, it was believed to be considerable.
