Report: Corey Seager will be on Dodgers World Series roster

After missing the NLCS with a sprained lower back, Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star shortstop Corey Seager will be on the team’s World Series roster when it opens up Tuesday against the Houston Astros in Southern California.

This is obviously a major boon for a Dodgers squad that heads into its first World Series in nearly 30 years with a 7-1 postseason record.

Seager, 23, hit .295 with 23 homers, 77 RBI and a solid .375 on-base percentage during the regular year. He now rejoins a middle of a Dodgers lineup that includes the likes of Yasiel Puig, Cody Bellinger and a red hot Justin Turner.

The Dodgers will need Seager’s presence in the lineup going up against an Astros team that has yielded an average of 3.6 runs per game during the playoffs.
